Jamie’s passion for landscape design stems from a family history of gardens and design. His mother was a well-regarded landscape designer and nurseryperson herself. He studied a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at RMIT University, worked as a landscape contractor, maintained a variety of gardens, and the list goes on. All this coupled with his 20+ years as a practised landscape architect has enabled Jamie to become a well-regarded and sought after designer today.
He has been lucky enough travel both around Australia and the globe, gathering inspiration, cultural understanding and knowledge from a vast array of people and places. This is reflected in all designs he has completed for his clients. His projects range all across Victoria in both domestic and commercial settings. Each design strives to find a creative balance between the built form and surrounding landscape, whilst reflecting the needs and lifestyle requirements of the client.
Jamie’s designs have featured in a number of gardening publications and television programs including the ABC’s Gardening Australia. His gardens are both practical and highly considered.
The fabric of Clapham Landscape Architecture is made up of a rich and versatile knowledge of horticulture and materiality, a comprehensive understanding of landscape construction and a rich history of design.
