Based upon a sloping block the design brief was to create a native garden with large honey granite feature rocks. The existing garden was old and over grown and the first process was to remove all existing foliage. Once the appropriate levels had been established one week was spent with a 20 tonne excavator placing 40 tonnes of Local rock. A natural pond area 8 meters x 5 meters was created with 15m winding river stream following into lower pond area.

Gravel pathways wind throughout the garden leading one past the observation deck, sunken fire pit area, and steps that connect to the lower section of the garden.

The garden has a very relaxed informal feeling that looks across Corio Bay to the You Yang’s. Established Eucalyptus trees create the perfect backdrop to this native garden, which is two years old.
