Sam Geoghegan
Sam’s interest in plants and garden design descends from his paternal grandmother, who kept a menagerie of trees, shrubs and succulent plants, keeping a small boy enthused for days. Soon he was taking cuttings and the collecting bug eventually took hold.
In later years, he took up gardening, attended rare plant fares and acquired the landscaping craft. His Alma Mater is Burnley and he has nursery experience.
Sam’s design is plant focused with an emphasis on sculpture and contrast. He contends that a garden should be flamboyant, whimsical and contain a sense of adventure. His timber and masonry elements are often organically executed and tend to interface seamlessly. Sam utilises steel, tiles, concrete, natural stone and hardwoods in his work, such that the artistic outcome is not restrained by any one element.
