Robert Mihailescu brings over 25 years of experience as a qualified horticulturist and landscape designer in one, combining his expert plant knowledge with sustainable landscape designs to create stunning gardens that thrive in the long run.

It started with a passion for fresh ingredients.  As a chef, Robert discovered the connection between healthy soil and quality produce.  Soon, he was studying horticulture and landscape design so that he could create works of art with nature.

Robert is a member of Landscaping Victoria and the founder of The Cutting Hedge Landscaping on the Mornington Peninsula.  Our mission is to soften and enhance your garden so that you can fully experience the outdoors and everything nature has to offer.

The Cutting Hedge Landscaping isn’t about band-aid solutions or uninformed decision-making. Every plant is meticulously chosen to thrive in your specific environment so that your garden will enhance your life — without requiring a lifetime’s maintenance.

Through both his company and his show garden in Mt Martha, Robert loves creating sensory garden retreats that evoke joy and harmony while re-establishing your connection with nature.
