Max Alcorn
| Green Spaces is a Melbourne-based landscape design and construction team, creating considered residential gardens from initial design through to build.
Director and Head Designer, Max Alcorn, began his landscaping career in 2011 with Robert Boyle. During his six years there, Max had the opportunity to work on some of Victoria’s most prestigious gardens. It was an experience that shaped his appreciation for thoughtful design, quality workmanship and, importantly, the enjoyment that comes from creating gardens as part of a collaborative team. Max then spent five years working alongside his father, Graeme, a landscape gardener on the Mornington Peninsula. This chapter of his career gave him invaluable hands-on experience across earthworks, concrete, paving and timberwork, further developing his understanding of how well-designed gardens come together through considered construction and craftsmanship. Just as importantly, Graeme demonstrated the value of building genuine relationships with clients. Max saw firsthand the importance of listening carefully, understanding what matters to people and creating an environment where clients feel comfortable asking questions and being part of the process. Starting his own landscape company wasn’t always part of Max’s plan. However, it was during these years working alongside his father that he developed the confidence and belief to create something of his own. In 2018, Green Spaces was established. Today, Green Spaces designs and builds high-end residential gardens throughout Melbourne, driven by a genuine passion for creating outdoor spaces that enrich everyday life. Max understands the importance of having a garden that provides somewhere to slow down, step away from the pace of daily life and spend meaningful time with family and friends. Drawing on his experience across landscape design, construction and team leadership, Max continues to build a connected and collaborative team who take pride in what they create. Together, Green Spaces approaches each project with curiosity, craftsmanship and care—creating gardens with a strong sense of narrative, a connection to their surroundings and, most importantly, a genuine connection to the people who live within them. |
