Special attractions on offer at or near selected GDF Gardens

To add to the excitement of the open weekend, a range of additional attractions and offers will be arranged at or near selected gardens. The attractions include coffee breaks, galleries, lunch and a touch of retail therapy to enhance the enjoyment of your garden visits.

Flinders – 371 Musk Creek Rd
Country Farm Perennials will have an extensive plant stall, specialising in rare and drought tolerant perennial plants in the grounds of Musk Cottage.
Myles Broad, landscape designer and shared architect of this extensive garden, will take walking tours through the property at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm daily. Guests assemble on the main deck near the house, and the tour lasts an hour.

Book Signing – Dr. Anne Vale will be promoting her latest book “Influential Australian Garden People” at 8 OceanView Ave Red Hill South on 18th November. Anne is a historian, lecturer and garden photographer. This latest book is a sequel to her 2013 award winning title, ‘Exceptional Australian Garden Makers’.
Ashcombe Maze – 15 Red Hill-Shoreham Rd, Shoreham VIC 3916
The Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens is home to Australia’s oldest and most famous hedge maze, a beautiful circular rose maze, and the year round lavender garden. The property is 25 acres of unique mazes and quality woodland gardens that inspires the senses, celebrates the seasons, and comes alive in Spring. Ashcombe Maze is 10 minutes from Red Hill South.

Heronswood Gardens, 105 Latrobe Parade Dromana , is only 300 metres from this Dromana garden.
Heronswood Gardens are the home of The Diggers Club and showcase the best flowers and plants for Australian conditions. The Diggers Garden Shop has a wide range of plants on offer and specialises in Diggers signature heirloom seeds, cottage flowers and edible plants that are complemented by a range of flowering shrubs and cool climate trees. Enjoy a coffee in the Heronswood café at the same time.

A French provincial coffee cart will be on offer with artisan pastries and lovely French bistro seating amongst the gardens, for guests.

Hand made Christmas wreaths, crafted from grape vines will be on sale with all profits to the Garden DesignFest charity, End Trachoma 2020
