Nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in Camberwell, Victoria, this expansive garden gracefully envelops a historic Federation Queen Anne-style home. The garden was designed to reflect the homeowners’ vision, blending family memories with seasonal interest and future adaptability.
A new entrance pathway features large bluestone steppers, creating a warm and inviting approach. The design encourages visitors to slow down and enjoy a leisurely journey through the garden.
Our clients wanted a garden that connected their past to the present. We created a dreamy garden where they could reminisce about their childhood. Beneath mature trees, layered understory plantings were designed to create depth and seasonal highlights, featuring proteas, persian shield, blue mist flower, salvia, hydrangea and giant bromeliads.
By the front entrance, a vibrant perennial garden bed showcases fragrant roses such as ‘Elina’, ‘Seduction’, and ‘Peace’, surrounded by catmint, geranium, alliums, and iris. This planting palette provides an ever-changing tapestry of blooms perfect for picking and painting.
A bluestone alfresco terrace was designed as a cherished feature, reflecting the family’s passion for cultivating and cooking with homegrown produce. The area includes a drystone wall and a steel pergola that offer relaxed seating and dappled summer shade. Espaliered apple and pear trees encircle the space, complemented by plantings of rhubarb, strawberries, and fragrant herbs.
